The low-pressure area that has developed in the southeastern Bay of Bengal and the southern Andaman Sea has intensified into a deep depression and is now a cyclonic storm.

According to the Chennai Meteorological Department, it is likely to intensify further and cross the coast between northern Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh on the morning of the 4th.

It is reported that moderate to heavy rains are likely to occur in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Nagapattinam for the next four days.

Orange alert for Chennai today

According to the Chennai Meteorological Department, an orange alert has been issued for the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpattu on November 30th.

Even though it did not rain in Chennai from this morning, it is expected to rain heavily from the evening.

Yellow alert for all districts in Tamil Nadu on December 1st

An orange alert has been issued for the districts of Cuddalore and Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu on December 2nd.

An orange alert has been issued for the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and Villupuram in Tamil Nadu on December 3rd.

An orange alert has been issued for the districts of Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Vellore in Tamil Nadu on December 4th.
