The Mickjam cyclone has completely turned the capital Chennai upside down. The heavy rains that fell from Sunday night have completely emptied Chennai and the neighboring districts.

Although this Mickjam cyclone did not cross the coast near Chennai, it strengthened into a severe cyclone when it reached near Chennai, and it danced the Rudra dance in Chennai.

The water drained from the main roads in Chennai the very next day. As a result, one part of Chennai is slowly returning to normal. On the other hand, water has not yet drained in some places. In addition, it is said that there is still a shortage of essential items such as milk. As a result, the public is facing great difficulty.

The Government of Tamil Nadu and the Chennai Corporation are engaged in rescue operations expeditiously. Rainwater is still stagnant in low-lying areas. Authorities are taking steps to remove it by motor. On the other hand, the public living in those areas are being rescued and housed in safe places.

In this period of heavy rains, there was a major problem in obtaining essential items. Especially on Monday and Tuesday, there was difficulty in buying milk. As a result, families with children faced great suffering. Even though the situation improved a bit on Wednesday, the public had to stand in long queues to buy milk.

On the other hand, there were long queues in many parts of the city yesterday. But, it was not a crowd gathered to buy essential items such as milk and bread. It was a crowd gathered in front of Tasmac to buy liquor. Due to heavy rains, Tasmac shops in Chennai and four other districts were closed on Monday and Tuesday. They were opened only yesterday.

Tasmac shops were opened at 12 noon, and they gathered to buy liquor even before that. In many places, they stood patiently in line and bought liquor. Videos of the public standing in long queues in front of Tasmac are also trending on the internet.

At the same time, many are questioning whether it is necessary to open Tasmac shops at this time, when there are problems in obtaining essential items for the public. Many are also questioning what poor families will do if they spend the little money they have on alcohol, as the cyclone has already caused severe damage.

In some areas, the flood water has not yet drained. The problem of getting drinking water and food is also persisting. In such a situation, why is priority given to Tasmac shops instead of giving priority to that? Netizens are also questioning.
