The derailment of an electric train near Aavadi in Chennai has caused a stir. Due to this accident, the Vande Bharat train, which was coming towards Chennai, was stopped halfway.
Indian Railways is one of the largest railway services in the world. Almost 130 years old, Indian Railways is still alive and kicking, with some changes from time to time. With more than 12 lakh employees, Indian Railways transports about 500 crore passengers from one place to another every year.
This train service was started in 1930, during the British era. These trains are running to six destinations on four main routes. In this case, an electric train has derailed and met with an accident at Avadi on the Central-Arakkonam route.
Four beds of the electric train from Annanur station to Avadi derailed. This train was going towards Coast Railway Station. In this situation, as the train met with an accident, the employees are struggling to recover the derailed coaches.
In the first phase of the investigation, it has been reported that signal failure was the cause of the accident. Similarly, as there were no passengers in the train involved in the accident, a major accident was avoided. It is said that it may take a few hours to repair the derailed boxes.
