DMK union secretary Manickam was suspended from the party last January after he insulted a Dalit youth by allegedly entering a temple near Salem and fighting. In this situation, Duraimurugan has announced that he has been given responsibility again. Mariyamman Temple is located near Tirumalaikiri in Salem district.

It is said that the upper castes have banned the entry of scheduled castes into this temple. In this situation, a youth belonging to the Scheduled Community has violated this ban and entered the temple. This caused a great stir.

Due to this, the people of the town surrounding the young man criticised him severely and threatened him. Salem South DMK Union Secretary T., who was there at that time, grabbed the young man’s chest and pushed him. He also cursed and threatened the father of the youth, who was standing there with ugly words.

He also pointed to the Dalit people standing there and said, “Are these not all people? Are you doing something they don’t know about? You will die without rice and water. You can’t go anywhere. How many days have you come to my house? Where has your son gotten the wisdom? Half of the people in our village say they will not come to the temple.” . Koile says no. On January 30th, he announced that he would temporarily remove Salem South DMK Union Secretary T. Manikam from all responsibilities and take disciplinary action for inappropriately insulting the listed youth.
