The residents of Karur district have alleged that the tar road laid at a cost of one crore rupees has been constructed in a substandard manner so that it is carried away by hand immediately after it is laid. The people of the area have released a video about the substandard road.
The contractor was involved in the construction of a new tarmac while the existing road was damaged. It is said that the project has been estimated at a cost of one crore 12 lakh rupees to build about 4 kilometres of tarred road.
However, it is said that the existing tarmac road was constructed on top of it without proper tarmac.
The video footage of the public pointing at the road with their hands about the condition of the substandard Tarch Road is currently being circulated on social media.
The people of the area have demanded that action be taken against the contractor who constructed tarpaulin in a substandard manner, cancel the contract, re-inspect, and reconstruct the road in a quality manner.
