There has been a commotion after mysterious people draped saffron on the statue of MGR in front of Tiruporur bus station in Chengalpattu district. As the alliance between AIADMK and BJP has broken, the MGR statue was decorated with saffron, which has upset the AIADMK workers.

There was a commotion in the area when miscreants carried a piece of saffron and a saffron cloth in their hands to MGR’s statue located opposite the bus stand in Tirupporur Municipal Roundabout, Chengalpattu district.

The AIADMK-BJP alliance has recently broken up. AIADMK has announced that it will pull out of the BJP alliance after BJP state president Annamalai’s talk about Annamalai and AIADMK leaders created turmoil among AIADMK members.

AIADMK activists in the area protested against the incident. Due to this, the traffic in the area was affected for some time.

The police removed the piece of saffron placed on the statue of MGR. The police are still investigating the mysterious person who put the saffron cloth on.
