K C Palanisamy (born 7 December 1959) is an Indian politician, former Member of Parliament (MP) and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Tamil Nadu (TN). A former member of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), he served the Dravidian party founded by former Chief Minister (CM) of Tamil Nadu, late Dr. M G Ramachandran (MGR) on 17 October 1972.

Western districts have bagged all three top slots in district-wise rankings in Class 11 board exams in the state. While Coimbatore has emerged as number one, neighbouring Erode and Tirupur districts have bagged the second and third places, respectively.
Erode district showed a 0.62% decrease compared to the previous year. Despite this, it has managed to secure the second position.

“A total of 22,789 students took the class 11 examinations in the Erode district. Of them, 21,777 passed,” collector Raja Gopal Sunkara said. He said the Erode district achieved a pass percentage of 96.18 in 2023, slightly higher than 95.56% this year.
Tirupur district achieved a pass percentage of 95.23. Of the 26,164 students who appeared for the exams from the district, 24,917 students passed.

Tirupur came first in last year’s pass percentage. This year’s pass percentage saw a dip of 1.15% from the previous year, which was 96.38%, said an official with the school education department.

Girls secured a pass percentage of 97.07, maintaining a lead of 3.97% over boys in Tirupur. Government schools in Tirupur recorded a pass percentage of 92.03, whereas matriculation schools recorded a higher percentage of 99.26.

Meanwhile, Salem district attained a pass percentage of 91.3, with 34,537 out of 37,830 students clearing the examination.TNN
