A mysterious gang of men attacked a journalist named Nesa Prabhu, who works for News7 Tamil TV in Palladam taluk of Tiruppur district, on Thursday. He was attacked while he was talking to the police on the phone asking for help. Let’s see what happened.
Nesa Prabhu, a resident of Kamanakkampalayam in Palladam district, has been working as a journalist for News7 Tamil TV for 7 years. While Nesa Prabhu was collecting news on Thursday, a group of mysterious men followed him. They also inquired about his father, asking who Nesa Prabhu is and where he is from.
Meanwhile, Nesa Prabhu informed the police about the mysterious men who were following him. He told the police that he was facing a security threat. It is alleged that the police did not take immediate action at that time. They reportedly asked him to come in person and file a complaint.
Following this, Nesa Prabhu went to a crowded area where there was public movement, as the mysterious men continued to follow him. He repeatedly sought the help of the police. When Nesa Prabhu was talking to the head constable Kannan of Kamanakkampalayam, he said, “They are coming again, sir… How many times do I have to see them? Tell the Palladam police to catch them, sir. Their faces will be captured in all the cameras. They will be in the CCTV footage of this petrol bunk too. Anything can happen, sir. All of them are under the age of 26. They are all Tamils, not Indians. They have even gone to my father and asked for the address. There will be six of them.
It’s not once or twice, sir. This is four times. They came in two bikes wearing helmets.” At that time, the police asked him to stay in a safe place and call the inspector. Suddenly, when Nesa Prabhu saw that gang coming there, he told the police, “They are here, sir. My life is over.” While he was talking to the police, a mysterious gang of men arrived in 5 cars and stabbed him indiscriminately and fled.
As a result, the journalist Nesa Prabhu, who collapsed in a pool of blood with cuts on his hands, feet, face, and other parts of his body, was rescued by the police who arrived after receiving the information and admitted to a hospital. He was later transferred to a private hospital in Coimbatore, where he is undergoing treatment. The Chennai Press Club has condemned the incident, saying that the police did not take action quickly. Meanwhile, the phone audio of the journalist seeking protection from the police just before the attack is going viral on social media. Meanwhile, there is no information yet about who the gang that attacked the journalist is. The police are searching for them intensively based on the CCTV footage.
