K C Palanisamy (born 7 December 1959) is an Indian politician, former Member of Parliament (MP) and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Tamil Nadu (TN). A former member of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), he served the Dravidian party founded by former Chief Minister (CM) of Tamil Nadu, late Dr. M G Ramachandran (MGR) on 17 October 1972.

“MGR was responsible for nurturing the growth of the DMK. He formed his own party, coming out of the DMK, and created a political scenario in Tamil Nadu known as DMK VS ADMK. This strengthened Dravidian politics. If MGR hadn’t started his own party, national parties would have entered Tamil Nadu.

Similarly, even in the present time, there needs to be a DMK VS ADMK political scenario. If the ADMK remains weak, non-Dravidian forces like the BJP will gain momentum in Tamil Nadu. It is very crucial for the ADMK to stand strong to curb this. To counter the BJP, aligning with the ADMK is not just an option but an imperative necessity. The present crisis demands the formation of AIADMK, which emerged as an alternative to the DMK, to prevent the transformation of the DMK into a splinter group or to have no place for the DMK, ADMK, or other parties in Tamil Nadu,
