K C Palanisamy (born 7 December 1959) is an Indian politician, former Member of Parliament (MP) and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Tamil Nadu (TN). A former member of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), he served the Dravidian party founded by former Chief Minister (CM) of Tamil Nadu, late Dr. M G Ramachandran (MGR) on 17 October 1972.

The DMK government has imprisoned Pachaiyappan, a farmer who peacefully fought against the government from acquiring his land in Tiruvannamalai, under the Goondas Act. This move by the DMK government incarcerates individuals like Pachaiyappan, who fought peacefully, labeling them as criminals, fraudsters, and offenders under the Goondas Act, which criminalizes actions such as smuggling and organized crime. They have taken him away and confined him in Madurai prison, warning his family not to easily approach him.

Why this vengeance against the farmers by Chief Minister Stalin’s government? Have they forgotten the concept of federalism in Tamil Nadu?

Are the protesting farmers considered as criminals for peacefully fighting against the government? Is this what your party’s social justice preaches?” This question raised by the opposition continues to gather support from various political leaders.”
