K C Palanisamy (born 7 December 1959) is an Indian politician, former Member of Parliament (MP) and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Tamil Nadu (TN). A former member of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), he served the Dravidian party founded by former Chief Minister (CM) of Tamil Nadu, late Dr. M G Ramachandran (MGR) on 17 October 1972.

The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition filed by Madurai resident K.K. Ramesh, seeking a direction to the Central government to provide ₹8,000 crore in relief to Tamil Nadu, including ₹3,000 crore as interim relief. The Supreme Court said it cannot intervene in this matter.

The judges said in their verdict that if the Tamil Nadu government has any problems, they will approach the court. This is an administrative matter and the Tamil Nadu government will take care of it, you need not worry about it, the judges said.

The Tamil Nadu government is distributing the Rs. 6,000 flood relief amount in six districts. Tokens are being issued for the relief amount to be distributed in Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari, and Tenkasi. Relief is being provided in the southern districts.

A relief package worth ₹1,000 crore, including housing and industrial loans, has been provided to the people of the southern districts affected by heavy rains and floods.

Due to the heavy rains that fell on December 17, 18, and 19, 2023, in the districts of Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, and Kanyakumari, a major flood occurred, and Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli districts were severely affected.

On December 21, 2023, Chief Minister Stalin, who visited Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli districts, made important announcements about providing relief to the affected people.

In this context, recently, Chief Minister Stalin held consultations with officials on this issue. Stalin discussed the relief amount with the officials. In that, he consulted whether the tokens are being distributed correctly? Is there a lot of crowd and queue in ration shops? There have been complaints that tokens are being given in blocks in some places.

That is, there have been complaints that tokens are being given through ration workers and councilors in some places. Chief Minister Stalin has raised serious questions about this. It is said that he consulted about the money that has been transacted so far and the number of people who have benefited.

In this context, a plan has been launched to send messages to find out if there has been any fraud in the distribution of Rs. 6,000. Messages are being sent to those who have received the flood relief amount of Rs. 6,000. A mobile number is also provided to complain if a ration card has been misused.
