The officials of the ED are checking many places in Chennai. It has been reported that an investigation is being conducted in connection with a complaint related to tax evasion and illegal money transactions.
ED officers are conducting a search at the house of a government contractor from Karur in RA Puram, Chennai. Selvaraj from Karur, who is said to be a government contractor, also runs a textile company. Seven enforcement officers who came to his house have been searching since 7.30 a.m.
Similarly, it has been reported that a private liquor bar on Radhakrishnan Road, Mylapore, Chennai, is also being raided.
Apart from these, more than 10 places in Chennai, such as Chennai Vepperi, Parimuna, Thenampet, and East Coast Road, are being raided by the Enforcement Department. Searches are also being conducted at the places belonging to government contractor Selvaraj from Karur and the houses of his friends.
