The National Intelligence Agency is conducting raids in many districts, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, and Tenkasi in Tamil Nadu.
According to reports, the raids were conducted in connection with a case related to the illegal manufacture of arms.
The National Intelligence Agency officials have been conducting raids since the morning of February 2 in many places in Chennai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Tenkasi, and other districts.
They raided the house of Naam Tamilar Party State Coordinator Madhivanan in Viswanathaperi, near Sivagiri in Tenkasi district, for more than 5 hours. He contested the parliamentary elections held in 2019 on behalf of the Naam Tamil Party.
At the end of the search, the NIA officials seized three cell phones and books and sent a summons to Madhivanan to appear in person at the Chennai headquarters on the 7th.
The NIA officials arrived early in the morning at the house of Youtuber Sattai Duraimurugan, a member of the Naam Tamilar Party who lives in Sanmukha Nagar, Trichy, and left after conducting a search for a few hours.
Similarly, the NIA has been raiding the house of Vishnu Pratap, a Naam Tamilar Party figure in Sivagangai district, since five in the morning. He is working as the district administrator of the information technology centre at Naam Tamilar Party (NTK). He also runs a YouTube channel.
NIA officials are conducting raids at two locations in Coimbatore district. Coimbatore Alandrai R.G. Ranjith, who lives in the city, was raided. A search is also underway at Murugan’s house in Kalapatti.
Similarly, the NIA has sent a summons to Naam Tamilar Party executive Idumbavanam Karthi at the party’s office address to appear for questioning. He has been told to appear on February 5.”
