TASMAC in a good mood. Liquor bottles are “staggering” due to price. Money is going to flow. Tamil Nadu government announcement tomorrow?

In the midst of the news that the prices of TASMAC liquor may rise, one more information has been released.

In Tamil Nadu, the revenue from TASMAC liquor stores is increasing. It is said that 3 out of 10 of the total revenue comes from TASMAC liquor stores.

Currently, there are a total of 4829 liquor stores operating in Tamil Nadu. Through these TASMAC liquor stores, revenue of up to Rs 45,000 crores is generated annually. On average, liquor is sold for Rs 150 crore per day, and more on holidays.

In this situation, the government is planning to increase the price of TASMAC liquor by Rs 10 per quarter to reduce the financial burden and increase revenue.

The reason is that the owners of liquor factories have been demanding that the government increase the price of liquor due to the rise in the price of raw materials. Therefore, it is said that it has been decided to increase by Rs 10 per quarter.

The price of the liquor bottle has been discussed, and it is said that the new price increase for liquor will be implemented from tomorrow, February 1.

Accordingly, the price of ordinary liquor varieties including brandy, whiskey, rum, gin, and vodka increases by Rs 10 per quarter. The price of off-bottle increases by Rs 20, and the price of full bottle increases by Rs 40. The price of premium liquor bottles increases by Rs 20 per quarter and Rs 80 per full bottle. It is said that the price of all types of beer will increase by Rs 10.

In such a situation, a piece of information has been released about TASMAC. The official announcement for this will be released tomorrow, it is said. If this price is implemented, it is expected that the Tamil Nadu government will get an additional revenue of Rs 2,400 crores per year.

In the 2022-23 fiscal year, the Tamil Nadu government earned Rs 10,401 crores in revenue from the excise duty on liquor. Similarly, Rs 33,697 crores has been earned as value added tax. Thus, a total of Rs 44,098 crores has been earned by the government. If the liquor price increases from tomorrow, an additional Rs 2400 crores is expected to be earned. This has caused confusion among the citizens.

In Tamil Nadu, even though the number of TASMAC stores has been reduced and the TASMAC hours have been reduced, the demand for TASMAC stores in Tamil Nadu is increasing. Therefore, it seems that prohibition is a dream for us till the end.
